Me modeling jewelry from KP Jewelers professional portrait taken by Eygabroad Photography |
Many times I get the question .... so do you take pictures of people? My answer...only candids. I know someone who takes amazing portraits, Kathy Eygabroad of Eygabroad Photography (go to
http://www.eygabroadphotography.blogspot.com/ to see more of her work). She has done extensive studies on light and how it affects a person's face, what poses are best, where to put the focus to make the eyes "pop", how to use props, etc. I haven't. I can however take candids of people. Because my style is in the moment and capturing something as it is, I haven't done the studies needed to capture someone at their absolute best no matter the circumstance. It truly is a whole different skill set and extra equipment. So if you want a professional portrait my answer is a gentle no, but I know someone who does. :)
